multiple html templates for the same compentent/page

It would be extremely usefull if it was possible to change the html template used for a page or component, for example based on the url used to access it (could be configured in the web deployment descriptor). My reason for doing so is a special case, however I beleive it would be useful for example if you wanted to have a pocket pc version of the site. There are many other uses as well obviously. Please let me know if this is possible already!
